On April 18, 1933
when prohibition was repealed, Mary (Merichka) Zdralevich and her son
Joe started Merichka's. Merichka tended bar by day and her son Joe tended
bar by night after working a day shift as a lithographer. As business
grew so did the size of the restaurant, with son Joe doing most of the
remodeling himself.
Merichka passed away
in 1957 but the family continued the business. Today, 69 years after opening,
third generation sons George, Joe Jr., and daughter Mary Kay carry on
the tradition of good eating at moderate prices.
ABOUT
OUR LOGO
The Merichka's logo is modeled
after a boomerang...because we
want customers to keep
coming back...and they do.
Merichka's
Homemade Meals
Just about every item on the menu is homemade. Regulars love our homemade
soups, onion rings and famous "Poorboy" sandwiches and "Yodel"
Burgers, each served with or without Merichka's garlic butterine.

Our meat is Graded--Choice
U.S.D.A. We cut all our meat. We do not buy portion-controlled, wrapped
meat from any meat purveyor, nor do we use Meat Tenderizer. We grind our
own beef for hamburger. We broil all our hamburgers and steaks.
