Small World Transportation is a family owned and operated business that can fulfill your non-emergency transportation needs. Our service area includes the Greater Chicagoland region and suburbs.

Small World Transportation was created to provide transportation to those individuals without a dependable way to
fulfill their daily scheduled responsibilities. We are a value-based company and provide safe, reliable and fully insured vehicles.

We provide door-to-door service to individuals, families and groups, from young people to the elderly.
We specialize in wheelchair transportation and have accounts with home care agencies, nursing homes, hospitals, day treatment centers and dialysis centers.

Small World Transportation will schedule service based on client need. We offer Short-Term/Daily service where no schedule is required. We also offer Long-Term scheduled transportation for weekly, monthly or yearly service. Long-Term service clients must be pre-registered and pay a $30, non-refundable registration fee. Personal, "Dedicated Drivers" can be provided at hourly rates (no time limit).

ABOUT THE OWNER

Fred Spights has been a Joliet resident for over 40 years. He started Small World Transportation in 2000 after an accident made him temporarily unable to drive. Being incapacitated made Fred feel like the world was so large, he was frustrated that he couldn't get around to accomplish even the simplest errands. He discovered that the Joliet area did not have a dependable, personal transportation service. So he started one. Through word-of-mouth, the business began to grow and today it is the largest privately owned, personal transportation company in the area. Fred is a former member of the Laraway School Board, District 70-C. Since 1977, Fred has been a foster parent for adults with disabilities.
