For the past 30 years, Don has also been the publisher and editor of his own monthly magazine called Will County Sportsman. His professionalism and his dedication to sports has earned him a place of recognition in the following: - Illinois Sportscasters
Hall of Fame Don has been active for many years with the Will County Old Timers Baseball Association. He has held many offices in the various organizations he represented so very well throughout the years and continues to be make an impact on the local sports scene. |

Don Ladas is best known for all the years he has spent in the sports field, and especially his 47 year association with Joliet Radio Station WJOL. Don is still with WJOL and is proud to be its longest ever full time employee. Between working for the Herald News and WJOL, Don has covered sports in the Joliet area for 51 years. He has done play by play and color for 47 years on WJOL, covering a wide variety of sports including football, bowling, basketball, baseball, and softball. Don still has a daily sports show on WJOL called Ten Pin Topics, which can heard Monday through Saturday, and he also has a weekly sports program called Shooting the Breeze.
